RSS Feed Optimization 

    Perhaps you have already come across blogs or websites that give you the option to use RSS feeds. What are they anyway? How can you use this to your search engine optimization advantage? You can think of RSS as instant newspaper deliveries to your computer almost every minute. Whenever your site of choice gets an update, your PC will immediately let you know what’s new, thanks to RSS feeds.

    Used to be, RSS or Really Simple Syndication, was limited to receiving news updates or updates for blog entries. In the recent years that led to the popularity of the iPod portable multimedia device from Apple, RSS feeds also made it possible for people to receive the latest podcasts, or stories in audio format.

    To be able to get RSS feeds into your PC, you need to download a software program called an aggregator. Examples of these are Apple Mail, Blog Bridge, Microsoft Outlook, Windows Live Mail, and Mozilla Thunderbird.

    If you have a blog that allows readers to subscribe to RSS feeds from your posts, then be sure you optimize your content. One way to do this is to create relevant titles that are rich in keywords. Again, you must research on keywords that are perfect for a hot or popular issue. This helps you plan on what you are going to write about.

    Furthermore, you must remember to place links within your text, whether they point to your own website, or to your partner sites. Anchor text, or text used to label the links, must also include keywords. It was also suggested that your RSS feeds should be placed in your MyYahoo or MyMSN home page.
